Located right in the heart of 2000-acres of rolling farmland, our Onewhero Venue sits above secluded golden sand beaches offering views out to the Bay of Islands that cannot be replicated. It’s a little piece of paradise ready for an unforgettable wedding celebration.

The space is designed as an all-in-one ceremony and reception location which allows you to relax and enjoy precious time with your loved ones.

Our comprehensive Full Wedding Package has been created to cover all of the important functional elements required for a seamless and stress-free event, while still allowing you to add your own personal touches to the day ensuring that no two weddings at Baylys’ Farm are ever the same.

Breathtaking Ceremonies

It's time to say 'I Do' - this is where your journey begins. With elevated 360-degree ocean views our main ceremony location, The Point, is like no other.

The Point has a natural downward slope, ensuring all of your guests are able to enjoy your ceremony with ease, and is located just a few minutes walk from our reception marquee.

We set-up our wooden benches for guest seating, and a post-ceremony toast can be served from our purpose-built wooden bar.

Alternative ceremony locations are also available in the case of adverse weather conditions.

Casual
Cocktail Hours

Once everything is signed and sealed it's time to catch up with your nearest and dearest over cocktail hour. Our Beachfront Marquee and surrounding lawns provide the perfect place for guests to sit back and enjoy the views directly out to the Bay of Islands over some nibbles and drinks served from our on-site marquee bar.

The area has been designed with functionality and relaxation in mind, inclusive of market umbrellas, bar leaners, bar stools and lawn games.

Outdoor lighting also makes this space usable later in the evening once the sun has gone down and the dancefloor starts.

Romantic Receptions

Tucked above a private beach with uninterrupted views out to the Bay of Islands, our Beachfront Marquee has been designed especially for a stunning wedding reception.

This area features our clear-span marquee with concrete floor, wooden dining furniture, dimmable lighting, generator, luxury toilet trailer, separate catering area, and other little touches to ensure your reception runs smoothly.

The space is large enough to comfortably seat 130 people, with room to spare for a dance floor. Clear walls also allow you to enjoy wrap-around views and an alfresco dining feel.

Relaxed Preparation

From the moment you book we are available to help answer any questions you have throughout the planning process and will provide you with our detailed Wedding Planning Guide.

The afternoon before the wedding you and your vendors will have access to the venue to set-up, as well as to do a ceremony rehearsal if you wish to do so.

You will also have access to the venue the morning after your wedding to complete the pack down and collect personal items, while we take care of the cleaning and rubbish removal.

We are a semi dry-hire venue, meaning we take care of the functional elements required for a marquee wedding, leaving you to focus on curating other elements to make the day unique to you.

Our venue is the perfect space for you to set-up and style according to your wedding day vision, whether through DIY or with the help of a Wedding Stylist or Florist.

We are lucky enough to have some amazing local vendors in this space, and will happily connect you with these businesses who can help to bring your plans to life within your budget.

Food Flexibility

We’ve partnered exclusively with a selection of fantastic caterers, each with delicious menu options at a variety of price points.

All of these businesses come highly recommended by previous couples, and are happy to tailor their menus to suit your tastes and preferences.

Bar &
Beverages

Baylys’ Farm is a BYO venue, meaning you can supply your own alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for your event with no corkage fee. The venue has two bar units included in our package for use on your wedding day: The Point Bar and the Marquee Bar.

All bar service at Baylys' Farm is to be managed by local bar maestros Kindred Spirits. In addition to Bar Staff, the Kindred Spirits team can provide a variety of services and inventory for your wedding and will ensure you and your guests stay well hydrated throughout the event.

FAQs

  • Baylys' Farm has a capacity of 130 guests total, including the wedding party and excluding vendors.

  • If rain is forecast for your wedding day we will discuss the various options with you ahead of time and will assist in implementing any alternative plans on the day. Some ceremony alternatives include the lawn directly in front of the marquee for in-between showers, or inside the marquee for persistent rain. We will show you around the various ceremony locations during your first venue viewing.

    We also provide umbrellas and our bar can be placed inside if needed. The marquee is fully waterproof and you do not need to hire in extra tents in the case of rainy weather.

  • As an operating farm it is important to us that we keep our farm roads in good condition, and we also want to make sure everyone gets home safely at the end of the night. Therefore we ask that you book bus transport for your guests to arrive and depart in via Clarks Coaches. We are able to provide recommendations on bus numbers and timings.

    Please note, the wedding party and vendors are able to drive onto the venue and we can provide parking for these vehicles. Other guests may drive under special circumstances, please contact us if you would like more information on this.

  • While we do not have any onsite accommodation the property is a 10-minute drive from Paihia, which is the tourist and accommodation hub for the Bay of Islands.

    A lot of our couples book the larger holiday homes for themselves and wedding party, while guests can choose from a huge variety of hotels, motels, holiday homes and campgrounds which are all available at different price points.

  • While we love our furry friends our property is in a kiwi protected zone, which unfortunately means that both DOC and the Far North District Council have specifically advised that we are not allowed to host outside animals at the venue.

The breathtaking views and location sell itself but for me it was Melita and Will which were the icing on the cake. They went out of their way to ensure you day ran smoothly and were always so responsive leading up to the day to help answer any questions you may have.

They send you a full novel with pages of information which helped me so much in planning our special day. I didn't have to get a stylist or wedding planner because there was pretty much everything I needed to know/do in this document.
